International dimension
The research activity in mathematics is characterized by a strong internationalization, at all levels.
- PhD students are strongly encouraged to spend research periods abroad working under the supervision of a local professor, thus entering into contact with other research teams and groups;
- participation in international conferences and research schools, both in Italy and abroad, is part of normal training activities;
- the program offers seminars and courses held by visiting professors;
- the Scientific Board includes mathematicians of high international scientific profile, working in foreign universities, who contribute with their experience and expertise to give a broad international opening to the program;
- the scientific production of a graduate student in mathematics usually consists of articles published in international journals;
- it is the practice for PhD students in mathematics, once they have obtained their degree, to go abroad with postdoc positions.
